I don’t quite get the point of this DOG. I understand Channel 4’s ‘Stay at Home’, but this doesn’t have any context if you don’t already know what it’s promoting. Surely better to promote its message during the breaks?
Not sure when this was introduced but similarly to Channel 4 has their Stay at Home DOG, ITV now has a Britain Get Talking DOG next to their logo.

Oh I understand the campaign and the message! Just not why they’ve put the name of the campaign as a DOG.
I think it has been promoted. I believe the message they're getting across is that you shouldn't just ignore people entirely and that this is a perfect opportunity to talk to people who may otherwise be lonely.

Seems more likely that people will look at it, wonder what it is, then go back to watching the show to me?
Awareness. Makes perfect sense to me placing it in viewer dense shows. Anyone wondering what it is will most likely Google it, especially during this period of social distancing/COVID-19 and the anxiety around it.

Most people may ignore it, some people may read it as a pretty simple instruction, some may Google it. Even if it's only a tiny number it does a better job than it not being there at all.

Here in Granadaland they are name checking the one presenter who is presenting that night. So far it has either been Lucy Meacock or Tony Morris who are the two main anchors.
Before this they used to name check only when Lucy and Tony presented together. Otherwise it would be a generic announcement for Granada Reports In The North West.
It does make me wonder why they can;t always address whoever is presenting but they may already have recordings for just Lucy or Tony.
Just wondering how the regional news announcements are going as generally speaking here at least they usually have a variation namechecking the main presenting pair or just something generic. Are they using variations just name checking one host?
