ITV 1979 strike memories

Just been faffing around on YouTube and was looking at some videos on the ITV strike of 1979 (not many around unfortunately, and a lot of piss poor mocks). I hadn't even realised the coincidence until I started looking that today's date is the date the strike ended!

So, 31 years on, does anyone have any memories of it? I'd like to hear about them as I wasn't thought of until a few years later (so thanks to my parents I missed quite a few key moments in TV history!) It would have been nice if there were some videos out there of the start, but there only seem to be videos of the end with the Welcome Home To ITV bit - seems they went to a lot of trouble to get bits like that organised during their time off air!

Its a shame the STV version was never recorded, especial being the only itv company to not really bother with network pres

We never routinely recorded presentation items, and in those days the off-air 'logs' were audio only. So unless someone at home had a VCR running, it's lost forever. Which is probably just as well.
