Hi all, I have noticed for the past 2 months or so, the sound on ITV 1 has been really strange, you can hear good examples on the news and weather stings and ITV Idents. It's like a high and low pitch glitch. It was really bad late February but seems to be occaisional now.
I noticed the thing happen again on ITV Central Weather last night.
Anyone else noticing this and wondering why? (thought this was better in a different post)
I've been hearing this since at least the end of last year. It does it on most of the ITV programmes I watch. A slight but noticable glitch every few minutes changing the pitch of the audio.
Something tells me it's a Central problem but how I don't know.

That's it yes, could be a bit of a regional thing. We'll see on the comments. They need to fix it as it makes a bad impression lol sometimes.
I noticed this in January I think, I posted about it in one of the threads - which one I cannot remember though.
I noticed the sound glitches during the titles of my regional programme North East News at the weekend and then in the weather sting it sounded like aliens had invaded in the transmission room.
Pitch changes suggests embedders/de-embedders or a compressed circuit losing it...
There's refurb work going on at the Northern Playout Centre in Leeds. As a result odd things have been happening on some of its regions in recent weeks. For instance teletext packet 8/30 went missing for a few days last month on YTV regional transmitters, which meant auto tune on analogue TV sets put ITV on the first spare preset., not its usual position of Ch 3.
Ah right well thanks for information. lol it does sound like aliens hehe .should be done soon then. It's been all transmissions i think ( Digital, Analogue etc)
