I read on Digital Spy that ITV are moving the 6.30pm and 10.30pm bulletins back half an hour and moving Emmerdale to 8.30pm

I wonder if this is true, they did just hire a new head of Scheduling

I heard this too...

Also "The Bill will go move to 7.30 on Tuesday and Thursday, but they will consider moving Tuesday's if it gets thrashed by HC. "

No truth whatsoever.... the Digitalspy posting was only someone's ideas!

In commercial terms, the early evening (1900-2100) schedule performs very well for ITV so they're unlikely to change it. There's been speculation for some time ITV may decide to push the news back from 2230 to 2300 though Nigel Pickard publicly dismissed the suggestion. Still, stranger things have happened. Smile

Not quite. http://forum.digitalspy.co.uk/board/showthread.php?t=303764

Still doubt it's true however.

You're probably right. It would be great if true though.

Would give Emmerdale a better slot and also sort out films being broken up.

This will involve SO many changes... IF true:

Coronation Street - 7.30pm - Sun Mon Wed Fri (losing 1 episode)
Emmerdale - 8.30pm - Mon to Fri (losing 1 episode)
The Bill - 7.30pm - Tue and Thu (clashing with EastEnders AND Holby)
ITV News - 7.00 and 11.00pm - Mon to Fri

It means that the rumour about 10.30 being scrapped is true and also that films won't be broken up, plus more dramas and stuff at 9pm/10pm.

Although it will all turn out to be rubbish, probably.. Rolling Eyes

This being the thread that started

"I have a friend working at ITV who says they are moving both of the evening news bulletins back 30 mins every night and Emmerdale is moving to 8.30"

Just step back and think about this for a minute, If anyone believe this then you'll believe anything.

Can we please stop using the forum to discuss any old rubbish that people post on Digital Spy

Id LOVE to see both Corrie and Emmerdale lose an episode each a week, but it wont happen.

I wouldnt mind Emmerdale moving to 8.30pm provided Corrie stays where it is at 7.30pm!

Like others have said though, this is a load of rubbish.

Can't see the bill being moved to Tuesday night and the 7:30 slot!! as that slot is taken by the football.
