With ITV 1 being introduced, i think it'll be an ideal oppurtunity for ITV (1) to relaunch - getting rid of those horrible little hearts. (apart from HTV new ident, that's nice!)
Also, wouldn't it be a great time for ITV ITN to relaunch, as it's getting old, and it is ITV News at Ten, so the titles will be changing.
Any ideas, or gossip on this??

I've noticed a few talented people who make mock ident stills, can anyone do them for a mock ITV ITN new look?
Please, it would be interesting what you came up with!

I really doubt that they will relaunch the news... I may be wrong and can't base this on anything but I just have a hunch!!!! Smile

I agree there Steve. Although no-one except me here seems to like it, ITV News looks extremely nice, particularly to people who aren't particularly interested about presentation but still notice. I mean, given the choice between dull beige and dull grey behind the BBC presenter and bright red and bright blue behind the ITV presenter, I'm sure more people would prefer the latter.

But the background is so lifeless, it's a fake backdrop. At least BBC have a shot of the newsroom.

If they were wearing sunglasses? Smile - No, seriously, I agree it's not that bad but I still think the understated Sky News / BBC image has something and there is a lot to be said of movement to show something is happening. Sky News and BBC Main bulletins do this well but ITV News and News24 seemingly don't!

ITV had fantastic News at Ten and Early Evening News studios inside the newsroom which they dumped for this garish colour scheme.

Yes, wasn't too keen on the News at Ten studio but the main studio could have been modified and with ITN having such an impressive building they could surely do better.

I think both ITN and the BBC don't utilise what they have enough - ITN's Gray's Inn Road HQ and the BBC's Newscentre could all be used more. Sky look said to use their newsroom even though, I'm sure they would admit, it's not up to the BBC's standard of style/plushness!!
