ITV 1 is launched

I've just seen a programme ad with the pic at the end. It was the darling buds o may. Sorry, I don't have a TV Card so I didn't capture it!

We all expected Scottish, Grampian and UTV to not change at all today. We've had confirmation (somewhere in this forum) that Scot and Gramp indeed are unchanged.

Can anyone confirm the situation with UTV please?

I thought about that just after I'd posted it. Well, I don't know then.

It appears that ITV1 are working towards dropping the 'hearts', theme. Therefore the slogan 'TV from the heart of life' will have to be replced.

Well how about this for a new ITV1 slogan:

'The left hand doesn't know what the right hand's doing' (?)

Brilliant! They've not launched itv.com, not branded ITV2 with the ITV look, not dropped the hearts.

And now on ITV2, they've dropped the DOG for and ITV Sport one in the top right hand corner!

I have to say though, they have put a lot of effort into the football programmes. The Goal Rush has loads of info on their screens and has a bar at the top which has information on it. At present, it just scrools across things like 'the Premiership starts next Saturday at 7pm on ITV1' and 'for more information, go to www.itv.com/football'.

And the sets not bad either.

Can anyone get a picture of this 'Goal Rush' programme?
Sounds like a Sky Sports clone.

cheshirec - if no-one can, from next week Goal Rush will be broadcast on ITV2 from 2.30pm and ITV1 joining them later on in the afternoon so you can get some screen shots then.

Tut..tut..tut..

It's still the 'ITV Weekend News' - I'd have thought it would be the ITV1 Weekend News, and also no ITV1 branding on the Powergen/National weather idents either..

Shabby.

I have to say the ITV1 branded is terrible!
Never before have I seen such boring, unimaginative presentation than what I have seen on Yorkshire, and presume on all the other GMG stations.
Its hardly hard hitting, it doesnt make you sit up and smack you in the face. If you were not watching closely then you wouldn't know you were watching Yorkshire/Granada etc.
The grey endboard is very dull, they are just an afterthought, although the trailers for the ITV Sport Channel are quite good.
I hope us poor viewers in GMG land are not subjected to the very boring no-jingle, no good morning look. It's so dull. I`m suprised some of you actually like it!

On a completely seperate issue ITV should not be allowed to promote its sports channel so heavily on ITV1, Its on trailers, Sponsor tags and in the commercial breaks as adverts.

And in ITV1 are looking for a new strap-line then how about `Britains most boring and unimaginative channel`.

Goal Rush grabs going on my website right now, I'm working feverishly to upload all this new content. Stick with me throughout the night and more images will be added from ITV Sport Channel too, which launched at 5:30pm. It launched with a clock, counting down the seconds, a bit like the old ITV Schools programmes clock with the seconds disappearing.

By the way the ITV Sport Channel has quite a nice tribal drum type theme.

Why would it be ITV1 Weather, it's not BBC1 Weather or BBC1 News now is it ? That's exactly how I expected it to be.
