ITV 1 is launched

From the ITV1 trailer, looks to me as if itv have completely dumped the hearts theme, apart from the amended idents themselves. Do you really think we will get new idents in the autumn and that this is a temporary measure ?  These could be around for a while  !

The trailer was only for Granada regions - that's from Tyne Tees in the North to Meridian on the South coast.

Nice looking trailer though. Nice the way the 1 flies and lands on the ITV logo.
They'll have to run it more often though. Probably at the start of Coronation Street.

I can't see what it's supposed to achieve though.

It was the Saturday Night endboard they showed just before CD:UK, shots of which appear in this topic.

As I've said, EMP are rumoured to be working on new idents for ITV, so we'll have to see what happens.
But from what I've seen it certainly looks like a temporary measure.
I think ITV maybe going for the 'simple' look.

So, let me get this straight:

ITV are getting all worked up and euphoric about bunging a small number onto their first channel in the hope that it will revolutionise it.

Personally, I don't give a stuff. Same programes, same crap regardless of what's on the end of ITV!

Yes, good point, bit like Sky News, might look a bit rough around the edges, but something better is on the way kind of thing.

I have to say, I do really like the graphics for the ITV Sport Channel, the way the logo separates and the action is shown in between, works very well.

They haven't shown a endboard for a 'single programme', you know with a picture at the end on the endboard!

They'll probably be showing some throughout the afternoon.

Sorry, I misunderstood, I see what you mean, no you're right they haven't shown an endboard for just one programme yet. I wonder why they have replaced the hearts with wavy lines, I mean the hearts are still on the idents.

I have just seen the Promo on Carlton Central for the name change.

Well, as predicted Tyne Tees are **still** using the wrong logo on their hearts ident.

Still at least the regional (non-ITV) idents are still in place.

I do hope this calling the station ITV1 with no mention of the region name is notgoing to be permanent...

Yorkshire are using the lines version of the ident all of the time now, however the music played in the background isn't the original music from the start, it's the same music but the bit that is usually played at the end, if you catch my drift.
