When BBC One/Two rebranded in Oct 97 they didn't rebrand their trailers until the day that the balloon ident launched. I should think ITV will do the same when ITV1 launches - or they might wait until FutureBrand English Pockett's new graphics/idents packages arrive at all the different companies.

Surely that was just a couple that slip through? As far as I can remember, over the 'rebrand period', NPU (who produce the network ITV trailers) produce two versions, with the second one only being allowed to air after the change date - in this case, Saturday.
Also, regarding DOG's, I can't see it happening. It would be a nightmare to supply every ITV company with a 'DOG machine' (for want of a better term) and have it set up to not appear at certain points. And, as mentioned, there would be quite a few complaints from the general public, who might not have a particular interest in tv pres. but who don't like a constant logo on screen! (Many people will never have watched a DOGed channel before.) No company would want such a backlash, to end up having 15 redundant DOG machines!

So on Saturday morning we should see the first glimpse of the new ITV1 logo on the break bumper at around 9.45, and then the first ITV1 trailer at around 11.25. The first ident will be before CD:UK at 11.30.
Am I the only one who fears that all regions might just have an ITV1 generic ident seeing as it's only temporary (i.e. no regional logo)?

Your logic is irrefutable. I agree that ITV2 should also change it's logo, so that everything is standardised. After all, the renaming of ONdigital to ITV Digital shows that standardising the look of things is the general attitude of ITV as a whole - so why completely contradict themselves by doing something different with ITV1 and ITV2? lol JACK

I doubt the Scottish ITV regions will really notice the re-brand of ITV to ITV1 (as we don't see the ITV logo much at all) unless they change it on the news and weather forecast?
It's a shame they never made more use of the jazzy circular spinning saw-blade-like logo that was used by S2. Another one bites the dust...

Why can't ITV think of some bloody new images or idents. Forget the hearts, forget c*** ITV2 just make something new, plllllllllleeeeeeeesaaaaaaassssssseeeeee Mr ITV - Change it. It's so dull!
But if Mr BBC is looking, please keep the balloons.

Lol! Are you being serious? Well if that is true, then that's very nice of them. Haha, non-fans of the balloon would probably like it to deflate and fall to the ground but I'd prefer it to just fade away over Television Centre.
According to a member on TV Ark, Carlton will get totally new idents on Saturday. Obviously seems a little daft after the recent rebrand in HTV land and the Next captions but then again, 'hearts' regions are due new idents in the Autumn. We'll wait and see!
