Yes, I did notice the Airline mistake. She must have read out the wrong programme. Also, the old ITV logo was shown as it is prerecorded onto the MOM titles and it has never been changed. YOu see this every Saturday morning.

I saw that too.
I think the announcer halfway through her link realised that she was using the wrong script.
I'm amazed that she couldn't think off the top of her head to rescue it. Isn't that one of the whole points of live announcers?

During a commercial break - Cat had a slot with a reminder of the nunbers to call for the 'Stars in Your Eyes' votes.
At the end she said "now back to the lads".
But Ant and Dec had already finished and this was during WWTBAM.
ITV presentation is becoming like to often see on the lower budget satellite channels.

The don't have to be recorded to be cut off. They could be live and someone at control cuts to the programme.

The way I understand it is.. there is an electronic schedule which controls every item, VT and server.
Just as in radio, all the items are scheduled by presentation and are delivered with frame accuracy. So when an ident into Coronation Street is 14 secs, then it will run for exactly 14 secs and will then cut to the next item in the schedule (which on ITV1 England would be black).
If the announcer was cut off before midnight (and not introducing a regional programme) then it would have been their error.
Of course with ITV1 Wales and the regional/night-time recordings - if it cuts off then it is the network director to blame.
I think thats how it works - the ITV guys are live till midnight!?
I suppose it is a talent in itself being able to talk to time. If they only write for 12 on a 16 second ident - I think it's up to them when they start to talk. If they start too early they will run out of words and will have a big silence at the end of them talking - on the other habd if they start too late, they might run out of time and miss out half their words.

They can hear the director counting to the programme though, and match their introduction to that.
