ITV do need to have a new look! The blue and yellow and scheme has worked well but needs to be rested, now that it has been reinvented so many times.

ITV needs to have a less comicky looking logo - I always felt the former ITV logo from 1989 to 1998 was great logo and sad to see it go. Crying or Very sad

I think ITV 1 does need a new look but i think it will be a shame for ITV News as there whole look revolves around the 4 squares I will miss the ITV News titles if they do get a new look as I think the titles are quite good.
But ITV News can change with the look having the Green Screen so they can just change the background.
Overall i would like ITV to get a new look.

I agree, especially how the ITV News package is the best of the graphics, and are such wide-spread. ITV1 should have kept the 2003 glass squares presentation, as the black and blue background suited the channel, and retained that 3d modern logo, as instead of the ugly looking logo that is in use now.

ITV should have a unified look across all channels in the next rebrand. Maybe same style trailers for all channels, just difference in colour, with just the idents taking an indivduality, creating a coherent looking network. A look like Benjy's latest mocks would work great, with the same style background for all channels, but each channel a different colour. ITV1 should keep the blue/black backgrounds as they have had since '99 until Nov 04. Those colours suits the channel.

This is a full stop: .
This is a question mark: ?
This is the capital of d: D
This is the capital of t: T

Now that you've learnt that, let's try re-writing that phrase:

"Do you think ITV 1 should have a new logo and get rid of the blocks? They need new idents. There so repettive."

There's still two spelling mistakes, but the puntuation makes it read much better and doesn't make other readers feel dizzy.[/quote

NO, definitely NOT.

We are entitled to expect a better quality of writing if YOU are going to post HERE.

The following, as just ONE instance, is COMPLETE RUBBISH.

I simply haven't the time or space to list the errors in that quote.

I get more pissed off by the pedantic idiots on here who do little more than whine about people's spelling and grammar, than I do reading a post with a few mistakes in it.

For whatever reason this guy's spelling isn't A1, but he's at least making a valid point related to the purpose of this TV Forum, and at least he didn't use "txt spk".

I think ITV1's current look is unimaginative, dull and dated. News that it is getting an overhaul in the Autumn is to be welcomed! Are they going for a complete overhaul of the ITV logo? Will the new look come along with ITV4 and the reported ITV kids channel?

I quite agree. We aren't "entitled" to anything on this forum; it is provided free of charge to all and people should not be excluded because their grasp of the English language is not as good as some would deem it should be.

The only person on here who has any right to be unpleasant to such perceived undesirables is Asa himself. If someone's language is hard work to understand a simple request to clarify should be sufficient.

Very few people's written English is perfect -- mine certainly isn't -- so a bit less pedantry please.

We're not discussing your spelling, you dimwitted idiot.

We're discussing your lack of capitalisation and punctuation, which make your posts very difficult to understand.

Just to take your first sentence above; there are SIX errors in (what ought to be) FIVE words. It should be "Yes, thank you, I agree."

I'm not insisting on "A1" spelling, punctuation and construction; but when you produce FAR more errors than words, you simply MUST accept some criticism. You're nowhere in the A1 to D9 bracket, you're Z9 or worse.

A new identity should be unveiled for:

ITV1
ITV2
ITV3
ITV4/ITV Kids
ITV News Channel

But it must be unified.

I don't think really you should put your points across so bluntly.

Sounds to me like you have a superiority complex. Get you, you're on 3000 posts. Now you can tell anyone what to do. Rolling Eyes
