Well done itsrobert - enjoy your retirement - you've done well!
Not saying I should become a moderator myself, but I have been here a very long time - almost since the forum started, if I remember. I do spend a fair bit of time on the forums, even if I don't post that much. I seem to get on well with people here and I am quick to spot issues that I believe should be reported to a moderator, which I do... so I guess I could be more of a good samaritan than a moderator!

Thanks robert. You did a lot of work behind the scenes
As for new mods - Gavin would be great actually, he's a fair bloke.
Not Hymagumba, the power would go straight to his head and he would ferret around threatening to ban everyone (including me) and basically being a bully, just like he is on Metropol!

Now itsrobert, you're not going to be one of these blokes who retires then has a big comeback one year later!
Good luck though - I know moderation actually requires a bigger commitment than many members will appreciate and is often a thankless task, so thank you.
( Better thank the others at the same time too I suppose! )

Thanks again for all your hard work Robert and may I join everyone else in saying you will be sadly missed but equally glad you'll still be part of the community.
I was in a similar position a few months ago, when I decided the forum I was running was far too much to run single-handedly and the increasing responsibility was taking over my life. Now I have devolved the forum to independent management, I can enjoy the experience much more from "the back seat" as it were and feel much better knowing someone else is worrying about the admin side of things. So I hope you will "enjoy the ride" similarly.
And just to reiterate what Robert said, a lot of people don't always realise the amount of effort involved with running a forum so Asa, Charlie and the other mods have my full respect. So let's hear it for Robert!

Thanks everyone. I've thanked Asa in private but publicly I would like to say that both he and Charlie Wells put a lot of effort into TV Forum - much more than they get recognition for - and I wish them the best of luck with the future.
I won't be leaving TV Forum - far from it. I'll still be a committed member just because I enjoy TV Presentation so much. It's a big part of my life and TV Forum helps me keep in touch with all the developments in the media world. Putting the arguments and fighting to one side, TV Forum remains the number one place to discuss TV Presentation and I still thoroughly enjoy visiting. I just feel that I can no longer shoulder the responsibility of being a full-time moderator. It does take a lot of time and effort and seven years worth, I think, is enough. I would not want to continue as a moderator only for my heart not to be in it. That would not be fair to Asa, Charlie, or indeed, the members.
So, thank you to those who have supported me over the years. I'm just going to sit back, relax and enjoy "retirement" now
