Playing secret squirrel doesn't suit you. I will prob get hung strung and quartered for this, but i prefer you when you post on metro.
you will
I can take any **** thrown at me. When you have a mother like mine who hears a song on the Radio and says that reminds me of you and your brother when you were growing up.
Not to be rude, but is this really necessary? This is a topic about Itsrobert leaving and topics should really be kept to that. It is only natural for this thread to move on about his replacement, as all threads like this do, but this conversation has nothing to do with Itsrobert, his replacement or TV presentation.
Out of interest itsrobert (and appologies if this has already been asked or if you have already said, or if you would prefer not to say) but why have you chosen not to continue on as a mod. Personally I think replacing you is going to be incredibly hard for Asa, and so far I've not thought of a single member on this forum who would be as good or efficient as you.
Good luck for the future and it's great that you're sticking around!
Thanks, imnogoth. To answer your question, I arrived at the decision because of several factors, which are interrelated. I've been considering quitting as a moderator for a while now - probably over a year - but I kept convincing myself to carry on. I reached a point this month where I'd been moderating for almost 7 years, since the age of 14. Moderating TV Forum is a time-consuming task. On other forums, it is a lot easier because the membership is much less, shall we say, vocal than on here. It was reaching the point where even locking or moving a single topic resulted in being bombarded with messages demanding to know why and arguing the case. I just felt that I no longer have the energy or enthusiasm to fight that uphill struggle on a daily basis. From TV Forum's creation in 2001 until a few years later, the members were generally more accepting of moderators' decisions and the job proved a lot more hassle-free. But gradually, over time it has become ever more demanding whilst my enthusiasm has slowly decreased. I finally decided that I had taken all I could of it and just wanted to become an ordinary member again, something I have not been able to do for a long time. I also didn't want to keep going as a moderator without my full enthusiasm, as that would not have been fair on Asa and the other moderators, or the members - it would be doing them a disservice.
So, that's what led to my decision earlier this week. I must say that the last few days of being a member have been delightful. I'm very much happy that I decided to stand down as it has given me a new lease of life here.
