What is that internet dog there for anyway, it dosen't even promote the channels website, seriously they need to do what BBC World does and put it on it's trailers, or on the ident itself, which would look very professional indeed.
While there at it, they can update the 'News Update', 'Breaking News' DOG by putting a black border around the News 24 DOG, like BBC World!

The DOG, clock & web address were lost from N24 over the election period because the graphics on Vote2001 were not designed with those in mind & clashed

Did anyone else, after looking at topic title immeditatley go to www.bbc.co.uk ?
when news 24 started at 09.00 this morning they had problems and the headlines and ident were very slow e.g. headline 1 read no picture just jo and ben in the studio then a gap then the other headlines were read with gaps and the ident followed after another gap.. then out of nowhere just into a report a BBC World dog appeared where the normal news 24 dog appears with the word recorded below it. it only stayed a few seconds. perhaps columbus had just been reboted and was waking up. the channel soon got up to speed.
I don't know what happened but the BBC World Recorded DOG will have been the last thing used as the News 24 studio was used to record the special Heathrow Express News Bulletins on election night as BBC World was doing a UK Vote 2001 special,
They have updated the breaking news things.
And they are horrible.
Increadibly distracting.
I am all in favour of getting people's attention, Sky do that with an animation of 'Breaking News' and a noise but NEws24 puts on a huge red bar -- ok in itself, but then the text is constantly animated, changing every 3 seconds or so from BREAKING NEWS to GOVERNMENT RESHUFFLE back to BREAKING NEWS to GOVERNMENT RESHUFFLE and it does that until they take it away, this is increadibly annoying!!!
Do it for about 30 seconds yes, but then leave it alone!
I haven't yet seen the new breaking news graphics but did see the new FTSE graphic today and someone didn't switch on anti-aliasing when the entered FTSE at the top as its good very jagged edges. AWFUL
Could do a better job in PowerPoint
Bring back the old one, it served its purpose!
