Who will get the revenue during next years World Cup - Unless I`m mistaken, some of the games will start around 0630, 0730. Will GMTV be providing the on-screen presentation for the games, or will they hand over to ITV Sport? I cant imagine Des on the GMTV sofa!http://web.ukonline.co.uk/tv.home/forum/emoticons/biggrin.gif
If GMTV does hand over to ITV Sport will GMTV be extended, anyone know what will happen.

Just a thought.

Will be interesting to see - and I suspect if there is a big game with a 1.30pm kick off the news may be shifted to BBC Two. Now I wonder what that might mean...!

Of course they'll probably use Fish - but you can hope surely!

GMTV have given way to Formula One before. They just extended the programme the opposite way. Don't see why this should be any different.

All the games will kick off at either midnight/1am or 0630/0730 because of the time difference.

Incidentally, I notice GMTV didnt get extended time when the last Grand Prix interrupted its schedule.

Urm...as I understand it matches are at 7.30am, 10am and 12.30pm.... this would make it mid-afternoon in Japan which is nine hours ahead of the UK.

I really don't like the idea of a 'rehashed' News at Ten instead of the ITV Morning News. Why don't they just simulcast the ITN News Channel, seeing as that starts at 5.30am properly?

Incidentally, if it does become the ITV News Channel, I wonder if it will still be shown on Channel 5 in the morning?

Maybe they could do an hour without mentioning ITV... erm or maybe (seeing as this is the route ITN are taking) they could just rehash the previous evenings two Five News bulletins, stick them together and see if anyone notices.

i think this is just part of the cock-up the government made when legislating about digital tv.

apart from the demise of central, the huge financial burden placed upon carlton and granada and now the belt is tightening at itn. i know the pressure upon itn comes from itv, but thats partly due to carlton&granadas financial situation.

i think the government should have gave bbc the job of owning the dtt platform, and made an itn newschannel a license requirement upon itv, ch4 and 5 - in the same way they must have 1 dedicated news service. itv,4 and 5 could have promoted the sevice as a complement to their bulletins, and sharing a common website. i think its essential to have as many british competing news channels.

as for bbc parliament - it is a public service, and should have had a guarenteed place on all platforms.
