Really, wasn't that pre the corporate look and sound ?

It couldn't have been used during Prince's Diana's death, that was pre-corporate. The lat time that I saw they used it was during the Concorde Crash. They used the special event music for the endings of the news programmes, instead of the normal BBC World News ending. I've said this three time before…does this answer anyone's questions?

Mr Voiceover
When the Queen mother dies (not long now!), what music will the BBC use for their titles? Rule Britainnia, National Anthem, Grandstand (she loved horses), or would the BBC compose speical music rather than the 'sad news' music?
When the Queen Mother dies they'll probably put all the BBC news output into one huge feed from N6 like when Diana dies an they had it on all day on BBC1 and BBC2
Most probably, and of course there will be a LOT of national anthems that day.
And of course Channel 5 will be the last to realise again, and show unsuitable programmes.
The BBC was the only UK network to suspend programmes when the new broke. The other networks took a while to get the news on screen.
No doubt the coverage would be very similar to that of the death of PD.
But of course it depends when it happens..
If it happens during the afternoon or evening then I expect that they will draft in their top two anchors and broadcast from N6, or perhaps News24 studios, because the N6 desk isn't large enough for 2 anchors and guests.
