RTE News need to invest in producing a Morning News on RTE 1, to provide an alternative to the fluff Ireland AM provide over on Virgin Media One. The reason RTE One do not produce a proper breakfast programme is the selfish reason from RTE Radio 1 not to take away listeners from their cherished Morning Ireland radio show. That reasoning needs to stop, and radio needs to stop getting top priority over television news.

Would simulcasting Morning Ireland on RTE 1 be an option, using cameras in the radio studio?

They do that already, along with several other RTE Radio 1 news programmes, albeit on News Now rather than RTE One.

I can't wait to see how they've done up Studio 3.
€1.7 million it cost them to do up the whole thing

€1.7 million for RTE News refurbishment amounts to the salaries of Ryan Tubridy, Ray D'arcy, Joe Duffy and Miriam O'Callaghan for a year roughly.

I don’t know what your point is.

The Nuacht now shares the same titles, graphics and set as Nuacht TG4

RTE Nuacht comes from TG4 studios in Galway which is why it looks different.

Ahh, that just shows how long its been since I've watched as the last time I did they shared RTÉ's studio/look.

It actually moved nearly ten years ago but only adopted TG4’s branding last March after a slightly bizzare stand off over the branding change that nearly resulted in RTE moving it back to Montrose.

Well the new look has launched. I like the video wall, but a reworked (slightly) theme tune and the same colour scheme and graphics is hardly a "major relaunch" that it was being billed as. I think they could have changed more than they did.

Winning Streak has gone back to Full HD in Studio 1 tonight. Yay.

Helped by RTE News not having to use their production gallery facilities since they have returned to Studio 3 I presume?

There was a small change to Winning Streak showing the demo for Roll for Riches tonight. The Demo clip itself has been updated with a new shot of the game. There is a new red box called with white Demo inside it. There is a little bit of misalignment with either the text or box which kindly looks sloppy. The word Demo is now located in the top left of the screen. On the last few editions of Winning Streak; it had positioned in the bottom left of the screen with just a standard form of white text. The demo clip was also shown in SD.
