And, you can't get 1,000 in the BH Radio Theatre..
I mused over where the late late show would be live from a couple of months back.

Isn't GL Stage 1 locked out for Strictly or do they use GL2?
Plus, Elstree is not what was quoted, in that it would be a from a 'London' location.

It's a bit of a push to get 1,000 into TC1.

So, it's either a West End theatre that is between productions - or they are going to an arena. The SSE Arena at Wembley, had a couple of free Fridays next month when I looked at the 'What's on' page on the website.

George Lucas Stage 2 is for Strictly, but Stage 1 is free.

TC1 is used by Graham Norton on a Thursday, so having The Late Late in on a Friday would be a very quick move. Also, 1,000 audience in TC1 is not possible, they have room for 600 at the most, with their new seating rostra.

Other option is - if you want a large audience for a relatively small chat show - you'd use a non-studio venue (theatre, concert hall etc.) and an OB truck, as James Corden did when he brought his US show here and used Westminster Central Hall?

I've said before that a modern day BBC Television Theatre might be a good way to ease the studio shortage. Even if it was just a theatre with a bunch of wall boxes so it could be rigged quickly.

A few cosmetic tweaks in presentation has happened to some of the games on Winning Streak. Winfall & Patience now both use the large honeycomb board in their new set. Play or Pay has changed too a little bit when you open the briefcases. There are now lots of paper €50 notes stuck into their background on the inside of them. The amounts in these briefcases are now shown in blue instead of black compared with the first show with the new look last week. There was no side panel graphics present on the screen. On High Low Share the players sit in their normal seats as opposed to being in that cramped position in the studio last week. It is good to see this because it frees up more space to walk around in the studio for most of the games.

Winning Streak really should be in Studio 4 at RTE and not Studio 1. Studio 4 has a lot more space, over 6,500 Sq Ft and is perfect for a game show, sadly Prime Time, The Late Late Show and The Ray D'Arcy Show are using it from Thursday to Saturday, so Studio 1 is their only choice.

RTE do have a sound stage on the complex next to the Fair City stage which they could use for Winning Streak, with a bit more space, but I do not see them moving out of Studio 1. What they need is a better designed set, with wide camera angle lenses and a clever audience seating area, to utilise the 4,000 Sq Ft cramped space in Studio 1.

I wonder how much money has been blown on this pointless edition of The Late Late Show? I do not understand why they are going. There is no anniversary.

There is no big event in London or Ireland. It is not St Patrick's Day. This seems to be just an ego fest for Ryan Tubridy, who deep down wants to leave RTE and join the BBC or ITV. You can just sense it. This live edition from London might be done to attract attention from UK broadcasters on how "great" Tubs is .... not.

Waste of money for a line up which could easily have come from Dublin. How many hundreds of thousands of Euros, if not into a million has been spent on this one off venture, and for what?

Given the strain Brexit has put on Anglo-Irish relations, I'd say it's pretty good timing. Its created a lot of buzz and tickets are massively over subscribed so it seems to be doing well so far.

And I think it's save to say they haven't spent a million Euro on it.

Production crew, production staff, outside broadcast trucks, uplinks, hotel rooms in London for the RTE staff, hospitality, wouldn't that not be huge bill for RTE, or is it paid for by the sponsors?

I think it's nice as a one off. I look forward to watching. The money is already spent so let's watch and see. I would imagine the sponsors would foot the bill.

I have been hearing that there are rumours at Donnybrook at this is Ryan's last season as host, and this is why this London event has been arranged. When he was talking with Pat Kenny the other week, there was a feeling he was winding up his time as host. He said in an interview a few years a go, his time on the show will be near the same time as Pat hosted i.e. ten years, which makes 2019 the year he could leave.

He's also said he'd like to make it 15 years though.

As for the cost of the show, I don't know the specifics but I'm sure TLLS has an annual budget and this trip will be factored into that.
