So RTE One's idents are as old as the BBC One circles were? Think they're doing the exact same thing, animating the logo differently and then bringing in a new set in that style?

They had a presentation refresh in 2014 in which they changed everything except the idents, even the logo is slightly different. They cropped the existing idents and animated the logo differently as you say.

Here's the point when the logo changed...

Apparently; 3 News Ireland has given The 5:30 a brand new look today with new graphics and design.

Didn't it only relaunch in January?

Caps from the News at Seven on Be3. I really hope TV3 will impress us when they launch their new studio at a later date.

Still using the same graphics, but a new studio has been launched. I'm not sure how they did it, but it actually looks worse than the old green screen studio previously in use!

Videos or caps anyone?

Some small tweaks to the graphics (they appear to have a gradient fill they didn't before) but most notably, the opening titles have been redone and they have finally ditched the stupid "The 5:30"/"The 12:30" names for the more sensible "3 News at 5:30" and "3 News at 12:30" - incidentally the lunchtime bulletin appears to have stayed with the previous set.

Are they still called "TV3" or are they just simply "3"?

They are still "TV3" but the news sign off changed from "TV3 News" to just "3 News" in January. Announcements prior to the rebrand referred to the news service as being rebranded as "3 News Ireland", but that name hasn't been used in full on air.

Massive cock up on TV3 tonight. Emmerdale part one played out ok. Ad break played out. Part one plays out again. Cuts off after 10 minutes. Goes to a promo. Part two plays out.

Network runs 15 mins behind schedule.

Corrie plays out fine.

The doctor show plays out with ad breaks cut out to try and get back to time.

Oops.
