It strikes me that they need to get UTV Ireland rebranded to something, anything, else as fast as possible. Because otherwise the existing confusion over UTV NI vs UTV Ireland is only going to get worse when UTV Ireland stops showing programmes that its Northern Ireland equivalent is screening.
Best to get it changed and refine it somewhere down the line. TV3 is the hero brand for the company now and has to take priority.

Doesn't make a great deal of sense does it - wonder why they didn't take the opportunity to rebrand the whole network to something that actually makes sense!
Report that the new brand will be announced on Tuesday and may be the uninspiring "B3".

That's a shame for the staff concerned especially as the TUPE rules don't apply and less than 2 years in contract for most of them presumably - especially at this time of year. Somewhat ironic that UTV Irelands then Managing Director made such a bid deal about poaching lots of TV3 staff when the channel launched....

Irish TV to go off air.

It's not really a surprise to be honest. All their most watched programmes (that make a profit) went off to Various other channels, such as Showbiz 266 and Keep it Country. Once those Music Shows left they had almost no audience at all. Bad news for those that are losing their jobs so close to Christmas.

TV3 is to show This Morning from January 9th, with Ireland AM extended until 10.30am. Midday moves to 3pm and is rebranded as Elaine, with The Chase and Tipping Point on from 1-3pm. An Irish cooking show airs at 4pm followed by a Judge Judy double bill. With Celebrity Big Brother on 3e TV3 seems to be doing it's own thing most nights at 9pm rather than just taking ITV.
The News at 8 disappears from 3e, but Digiguide hasn't updated listing for UTV Ireland (or be3) so don't know if it's moved there or how their daytime line up shapes up.

Wow. Content is so thin some mornings by 8am on Ireland AM, and extension to 10.30 is the last thing that show needs!
