Hopefully when the results are mentioned on BBC News on Saturday Night they'll tell viewers to look away now if you're watching the highlights 24 hours later.
As great as he was in Father Ted, I do hope the media will take the opportunity to shed some light on just how much he'd done in his career. There'll be a lot of people out there who think of him as little more than the man who shouted "drenk" and "feck".
And in Father Ted, he had a job to do. I recall him saying that as the trained actor, co-staring with two comedians, he was basically mouthing the script when the camera wasn't on him, so they could look over if in lines trouble, to get help.
His biggest regret was that Linehan and Matthews never put his suggestion in a script for Jack to shout of "Garlic".
