It's looking more and more likely that they will have to reorganize, or close. It will be hard to find a buyer as they're still carrying debt and have very little going for them. If someone wanted to enter the Market new they can do so just like UTV Ireland. I can't see advertisers paying the same amount of money for Ads as last year when you've lost 40 percent of your audience.

I can't see the soap lasting much longer. How to blow 7 million euro!
To be fair TV3 still have reasonable ratings during daytime, but their primetime schedule is bombing.
I think they can survive - just - but scheduling needs to improve and probably their aspirations for 50% Irish output may have to be revised.

Do we know how repeat Ant & Dec (TV3) got on vs new Ant & Dec (UTV) ?
CH
Repeat Ant and Dec on TV3 got 88,000 Adults over 15 (TV3 8th most watched show of the week)
UTV Ireland's New edition got 121,000 Adults. (UTV Ireland 12th most watched of the week)
But there were quite a few mumbles on Saturday. TV3 listings had it as the new SNT and many were fooled. As the weeks progress the TV3 number is likely to drop dramatically.

If it were any other station anywhere else it would be pulled this week or put on at midnight. However, it got funding from the BAI and many of the episodes are already made so It will probably limp on till the summer but I doubt it will be back. Figures are likely to go up... they can't really go much lower. Expect TV3 to put out a press release saying figures are up 20% when an Episode does 100k. Plus they've already pulled several shows mid series over the last few weeks when they had almost no viewers (and in one case was damaging Red Rock lead in)
It's daytime viewing figures aren't bad but you can't make money on the low figures that they do between 7am and 4.30pm. At best they might break even. The only bright spark is between 4.30 and 7 when Judy, the News and Xpose do well. However their figures have also been falling in recent weeks. Not having Late Lunch Live on also appears to be having a minor knock on effect.

Soaps do take time - far too early to judge and TV3 are better off sticking with it rather than trying again. Surprised how well the SNT repeat held up, though agree the gap will widen.
What is wrong IMO is how UTV have walked in and been granted PSB stat is with barely any non-news Iris programming. They make London Live look local.

100% agree. Soaps do take time, but TV3 don't have the time to give it to be Honest. Bad Scheduling has really tripped up this production. Even if they had started showing it in November when it would have had a lead in from Coronation Street, it would have built up a loyal viewership in the 7 to 8 weeks before they lost the ITV soaps. It's not a bad show at all but it has no support whatsoever on the TV3 line up so it gets lost.
I will say that UTV Ireland probably put out as much Irish PSB programming as TV3 in Primetime. They've 90 minutes of News going out every Weeknight and it's proper news unlike TV3 who's 5.30 bulletin is wrapped up in about 15 minutes once you take out the 2 ad breaks, the Sport, and the Weather. The thing is that the Lighter touch of TV3 News actually has a place in the Irish Market. It's probably one of the only Assets TV3 has left and they don't want it. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the first thing to be cut back when they start to make cuts.
