Ivan Yates is set to retire from Virgin Media Ireland & Newstalk in August.

Irish Times reporting that Ivan Yates is to retire from radio and TV work next August after bankruptcy settlement with AIB which will see him retain the family home in Co. Wexford.

Massive news from Virgin Media Television this afternoon. The decision to revamp the daytime schedule back in October is now being reversed.

This was posted on Virgin Media One’s Facebook page:
Due to popular demand, viewers favourite This Morning with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield will return weekdays from 10am-12.30pm from Monday 9th March, with Ireland’s longest-running breakfast TV show Ireland AM, airing from 7am-10am, Monday to Friday and from 9am on Weekends.
Virgin Media News will air from 12.30pm to 1.00pm.
The Elaine Show will get a makeover with a brand new set and will move to weekdays from 3pm – 4pm.

No surprise. The original schedule revamp made no sense whatsoever. I wonder will Loose Women also be returning to Virgin Media Two.

What is the current schedule?

7am-11am: Ireland AM
11am-12pm: Elaine
12pm-1pm: Virgin Media News: Live at 12

I said this would happen - Indeed every single Irish viewer knew this would happen. How could VM be so stupid in axing This Morning?

When utv Ireland turned into be3 there was 3kids does children programming still appear on VM3?

Yes from 7am to 9am on weekday and weekends

Fair play though to Virgin Media Television for actually listening to their audience and bringing This Morning back. I’m sure ratings had quite a bit to do with it also. Anyone know what the ratings were like before and after the revamp in October?
