Though Elstree Studios don't provide facilities directly to BBC Studios (the production company) for Strictly. BBC Studios (the prod co) book the facility as a full-studio operation from BBC Studioworks (the resources company), who have a long-term deal themselves with Elstree Studios to provide the George Lucas stage, make-up, dressing and green rooms, access to some canteen facilities (though this may be separately negotiated between BBC Studios and Elstree Studios and not via BBC Studioworks) and some parking.

Ardmore Studios provide RTE with the same facilities as Elstree Studios provide the BBC with for Strictly. Both dance shows required an independent large studio service for their big prime time dance show.

Noticed that Virgin Media News and Ireland AM are already on their Christmas break. No short bulletins or anything newsy at all since Friday evening.

Just a heads up. RTE Lyric FM are repeating a random edition of Gay Byrne's (he of this threads title) last regular radio work, his Sunday Jazz and big band show on Sunday 22nd December 2-4pm. Available on catch-up.
Just listening to it now. Odd. One of those 'grab anything from the archive and put it out' editions.
Something, that would no doubt make the great legend chuckle.
They (RTE) haven't done any re-editing of the show, which itself was a pre-rec on original TX. So you have Gaybo saying, please don't text or email me this week as I can't read them as I'm not here.
Whilst nice to hear him back on the radio - can't help thinking that it's a missed opportunity to do a proper 2 hour radio retrospective, away in time from the tributes and affection that poured out around the time of his passing.

Most years the RTE midnight Mass is on the Eurovision Network. How many Members actually broadcast it is a different matter entirely,
RTÉ One has just used the Eurovision titles as an outro to Christmas Eve mass...

My Saorview EPG has a error coming up for the RTÉ News evening bulletin on Christmas Day. It's not coming up until 6:50pm & it's lasts for 10 minutes. But it had been set for one hour from 18:01 to 19:00 by mistake presumably by someone manning the transmissions for 2RN or RTÉ. They probably had too much of the mulled wine this Christmas.

It was like that on my Sky Q box aswell.
