Dodgy host alert...

How would you feel if someone on an Australian forum started slagging off Dale Winton like that?

As others have posted, it's because the UK series has been airing over there. I doubt it'll be that way forever if the series is recommissioned.

And it still is airing daily. The Chase UK goes out at 3pm whilst The Chase Australia goes out at 5pm on Seven.

I thought they'd have rested the UK version whilst the Australian version airs. It will suffer from over exposure.

They probably want to make sure people aren't tuning in at 3pm thinking there is no Chase at all and not bothering to come back at 5pm. This way you can signpost fans of the UK show at 3 to the fact there is a new Aussie version an hour after.

The main reason for adding Australia has been established, but another thing could be the broadcaster trying to make a point it's a hit elsewhere so it's got to be good.

Well just finished watching Best Time Ever! With Neil Patrick Harris. Co Host Nicole Sherzinger. (sic). I think its a good show. Ant and Dec was on the set at the very end. During the closing they didnt say anything. And if you didnt know who they were, they were just a couple of faces in the crowd. The show is Executive Produced by Ant and Dec and i think the producers of SNT. So it had the feel of SNT. I like it. I found myself smiling. Some of the jokes didnt get any laughs or titters from the live audience. The production values were good as youd expect from NBC. As it was live you have to expect some wobbles here and there, but over all i like it. A perfect vehicle for NPH. He's a good host. Not sure what Nicole brings to the show. But its only the first episode. As some have said its kinda late. 9pm CT/10 ET. Not a good time for family viewing. But I dont think it would work on a Saturday Night as most Americans are out doing stuff on Saturday Night...so not sure what day this would work on. But I give it a thumbs up. And since its an ITV Studios productions they can draw on stuff ANT and DEC have already done and just reshoot it with NPH. So they have a deep catalog of stuff to draw from.

Well the critics didnt like it.

Some clips of the show from YouTube.

Looks like its pretty much a carbon copy of the UK version, Undercover, the equivalent of Win the Ads, Neil vs, Little NPH, End of the Show Show. You can see Ant & Dec in the End of the Show Show clip below.

Haven't seen the titles, so don't know if there is a replica 'ITV Towers' in there.

To be fair its a pretty fresh concept in the USA, and it could run and run. also there are plenty of features which could be pick and mixed over the series, like "Whats next", the lairs at the start. etc etc

I take it there have little harris,

Mind you why is there No win the ads? ie its get lucky instead.

Variety shows arent a new concept on US telly. They havent been really done regularly and in large numbers since the 70s early 80s. (Think Donny and Marie and Cher and Sonny) But this OTT style is certainly a fresher approach.
Well the critics didnt like it but it beat Dancing with The Stars (Strictly USA) so lets hope it continues. I kinda like it.

Surely they don't need to keep referring to it as 'The Chase Australia' throughout the programme? If we aired it on Challenge, for example. in the UK, calling it 'The Chase Australia' would be appropriate, but I don't see the point of it when it's airing in Australia anyway.

Admittedly it's not something we haven't done- we have "The Voice UK"- even though none of the other international versions have been shown over here!

I believe every version of The Voice (bar perhaps the original) included the name of the country in the title of the show.

Oddly the original did (Holland), but the US did not. Most other nations where different though as they included the word 'of' and name of the country, so those titles did more than differentiate them from foreign versions and implied it was about finding the best voice in that country.

In the U.S. case, "the Voice of America" couldn't be used as the U.S. government's external radio station has that name.

Is that a documented reason why it didn't air as such or you jumping to the conclusion? It's hard to tell from your post.
