That was a couple of years ago. They filmed a pilot on the UK set, but at that time didn't proceed with the series.
They've apparently commissioned a local version after the success of the UK episodes which have been going out in Australia at 3pm on 7. This series is filmed in Melbourne.

What the bloody hell is that!? The Chasers are supposed to be in some way intimidating, either by how they look, how they talk or what they say. This guy just looks like a bellend.
Not really correct look a paul, and the happy smilly one in the white suit. but it how acts with it, he nice but he can cut you right down..
That superned need changing, what about the enquizerter or the librarian?

I think they got the interpretation of the arrival of The Chaser in the Turkish version a bit wrong. Virtually no walk up and waving at the audience. (Around 3m 30secs)

Personally I think that the US took most of the character out of the show.

It still amazes me that they thought giving the presenter a hand held microphone, despite having the madonna-style mics available, would be a good idea considering he he needed to hold the questions at the same time (although he had a screen in front of him so what was the point) - the result of having to juggle a stack of questions and the microphone means that his mic is jammed up too close to his face and the position he's holding the questions and mic looks quite awkward.
