Wasn't sure where to put it so probably worth having a thread about International versions of UK shows.

It was mentioned in another thread somewhere that The Chase is launching in Australia in September on Channel 7. Australia's Chasers are Goliath, the Supernerd, The Shark and the UK's own Anne Hegarty (The Governess)

(Incidentally the UK version is getting a new chaser added to the current 4 for the new series, Jenny 'The Vixen' Ryan).

I don't know who the Supernerd is, but he annoys me already.

They accidentally showed an episode from the new series during the last run of the chase where she featured in the selection of chasers after the first cash builder. I imagine that it'll now be that they each do one show a week, though with 'the governess' recording in Australia she may have been absent from recordings over here. Saying that it doesn't seem to have been a problem for 'The Beast' recording the UK & US versions.

Its was more than just an episode try a whole week, yet the new chaser never turned up. Again why would Ann be absent? Paul is currently in Edinburgh for the fringe during a whole months worth of shows. Each chaser will do 32 episodes, not including Celebs. And remember those episodes would have been filmed back in April- June?

Kind of goes against the whole concept of celebrating their intelligence rather than branding them nerds, geeks or, even worse, Eggheads. Casting is key - was forced to endure an episode of Eggheads the other night and reminded how unlikeable they all are.

Would be nice if Challenge pick this up too - they've shown the US version and Aussie Millionaire so if the price is right it would probably be worth it.

X Factor Australia 2015 starts in September with a new judging panel. British singer-songwriter James Blunt and American Rock ‘n Roll icon Chris Isaak join Dannii Minogue and Guy Sebastian who returns after a two year hiatus.

Would have rather we'd got James Blunt than Nick Grimshaw - be interesting to see how he does.

What the bloody hell is that!? The Chasers are supposed to be in some way intimidating, either by how they look, how they talk or what they say. This guy just looks like a bellend.

Yeah, they are supposed to look intimidating - this guy looks more like a bad Doctor Who.
