It appears Portugal's government is seriously considering a partial privatisation of their public broadcaster. This would essentially mean giving a private company a concession to operate RTP1, while RTP2 gets closed down.
There are reports that Antena 3, the Portuguese Radio 1, will also be closed down. RTP1 will start showing as much advertising as the private channels, 12 minutes per hour instead of six.
I don't know if this is definite, or just a suggestion, but it seems serious.
