It appears Portugal's government is seriously considering a partial privatisation of their public broadcaster. This would essentially mean giving a private company a concession to operate RTP1, while RTP2 gets closed down.

There are reports that Antena 3, the Portuguese Radio 1, will also be closed down. RTP1 will start showing as much advertising as the private channels, 12 minutes per hour instead of six.

I don't know if this is definite, or just a suggestion, but it seems serious.

That was two months ago, MTV (not that MTV) of Hungary recently introduced new logos for its services.

I had a nosey of it the other week and I don't like the new MTV logo, but it appears that MTV and Duna (both state funded) now have similar logos for the first time too. Although it's worth noting MTV's Hrado (News) is still on the same look it has had since 2008.

That would be a shame. This is entirely different from the France's privatization of TF1 in the 1980s. In that case, two of the "big three" French networks -- Antenne 2 (now France 2) and FR3 (now France 3) -- remained in public hands. Could Portugal be left without genuine, non-profit public television altogether? Wouldn't this go against EU broadcasting guidelines?

BTW, listen to the first commercial above and then check out this commercial from 2010:

I really like it when TV gets all retro, especially when it's tongue-in-cheek.

Why have they got two different font for "RTL"? Indeed why are both logos completely different? How daft.
