A very nice ident from Telefe, a commercial network in Argentina. Visually, it looks a bit like the new corporate BBC ident, but the music and animation feels faster and happier.

The Swedish public broadcaster SVT has revealed their new channel logos for SVT1, SVT2, Barnkanalen and SVT24 today. The previous logos included a "starflower" symbol, but it is absent on the new logos that only consist of coloured text.

The old logos are on the left, and the new ones on the right.

I must say I'm a bit disappointed at first glance, but I'll save my judgement until I see how it looks on screen. The new look launches on August 25 and I'll post some videos here as soon as I get to it.

SVT has put up a site about the relaunch here:

An article that contains the logos in higher resolution:

If that 'starflower' symbol was solid and didn't fade out to the edges, then they'd be some really, REALLY solid logos, and it'd be a shame to lose them.

The new SVTB and 24 logos just look so dull and plain it's unreal.

Shame about them ditching those logos, the flowers made it stand it.

SVT have put a few promos together where they disassemble the current idents in anticipation of the relaunch. They are kinda funny and can be seen here: http://svt.se/svt/road/Classic/shared/mediacenter/index.jsp?&d=95610&a=1212027

Can't imagine where they'd get an idea like that from Wink

Leondal.com est tres bon! Tonnes of french pres on there... With a lot of recent generiques and bandes-announces posted as soon as they are aired.

France's TV history is littered with frankly weird and spooky idents. Canal+'s original startup, Anntenne 2's flying monks, FR3's eyes, TF1s basic animation for the news and even France 2's "apocalypse be nigh" 90s journal titles. There's even a wonderful moment from defunct French broadcaster La Cinq, which signed off for the final time with an apology for the loss of vision and sound! The more recent ones are really not as interesting but there's some interesting stuff if you fancy a dig.

Have graphic designers from London made their way to Sweden? What is it with every company nowadays losing their identifying (sp) symbol for plain, dull text Mad

That's a shame - the SVT flower was a really neat branding device. I see it and instantly think SVT subliminally - and I don't even live in Sweden!

Here's a selection of Olympic adverts, idents and titles from the amazing site medias.lenodal.com.

ZDF (Germany)
TVE (Spain)
RAI (Italy)
ARD (Germany)
France Télévisions
Eurosport
The official generic titles as used by TSR (French Switzerland)
And thrown in for good measure, here's the BBC's 60 second version complete with some French people's comments on the right

There's various other Olympic bits and other presentation including some special idents from France 2 and 3 on this page.
