Interim/Temporary branding

Does anyone have anymore examples of this? (January 2017)

Something that i've noticed some TV Channels do (or at least used to) is replace old branding temporarily ahead of a major overhaul of branding.

Does anyone have more examples of this? I find it very interesting!

Channel 5 had a revamp in 2002 about six months before they rebranded to 'five', and quite nice it was too.

This logo. Only lasted 27 days, between Sky1's rebrand and Sky3 becoming Pick TV.

These lasted about a week in 1998 before being inexplicably withdrawn.

The idents remained for a few months but the end shot changed to just the 4 in a single circle over an out of focus screen.

There was of course CBBC's 2001 refresh, some months before the CBBC channel and CBeebies launched.

And regardless of the rebrand - the programme lineup didn't change until they began to add the old VMTV archive into the schedules.

Sky3's final ident was uninspired, but you can forgive them for the fact that they were preparing to rebrand it.

Tough one - but I couldn't resist adding this in. You could tell it didn't last long from the channel name.

BBC HD's July 2008 ident didn't last long either - in March 2009 it was replaced.

Not a channel, but Look North (Yorks) had temporary re-edited titles for the first weekend in October 1997 to incorporate the new BBC logo. The programme introduced a completely new look on the Monday...

ITV1's original 2006 set wasn't intended to be temporary, but it only lasted 9 months . . .

I wonder whether the same will happen with Oneness?

ITV1's were replaced initially with some CGI offerings using the black 'itv' element in the logo:

and then a complete re-issue with a larger logo in HD.

My personal favourite was the "sunflowers" (not here in HD):

Was it only 9 months? I thought it was about a year.

I quite liked the first set, but I didn't get the logo opening out the way it did. It was to hug the scene or something, wasn't it?

I loved that 2006 set from ITV1. The music was brilliant on some of them. Some of them had a lovely Summery feel to them.

January 15th to November 13th 2006. At the time of when the set first aired, I felt that it was just OK to be honest - however I was quite bewildered to see that it went after less than a year. The set after that was pretty good - Market was a nice ident to be fair.
