Finally after 12 years of hard campaigning by the show's fans, Interceptor is being shown. Challenge TV are screening the show which was originally aired on ITV in 1989. Check it out next Saturday 8th December on Challenge TV Digital at 9am. It's fantastic. Smile

That's great news, when it was originally on, I only remembered the theme tune, so to finally watch the show will be brilliant, do you know what time it will be on alanagr?

Interceptor is being shown at 9.00 am (in place of Treasure Hunt).

Challenge TV are running 2 trailers for Interceptor, I've managed to catch one of them. I have to say that the show still looks as fresh as ever and could easily be a big hit again. Apparently when it was originally aired in 1989 some people didn't understand it and it was thought that the show was ahead of its time. What with the popularity of reality gameshows nowadays, it would fit well in.

Anyway, here's hoping lots of people read this and watch it. If ratings are high enough Chatsworth might be approached to make a new series. That would be fantastic as I always believed the show never got a chance.

Wasn't this just a Treasure Hunt clone? It even had Annabel Croft, for God's sake!

I don't agree. Interceptor was nothing like Treasure Hunt. Both shows may have featured Annabel Croft and Castle Air helicopters but the comparisons end there. Interceptor was the first gameshow to feature a villain. In my opinion Interceptor was the more exciting as Treasure Hunt only contained a level of excitement towards the end to see if the contestants would beat the clock and win the money.

Obviously thousands of people loved Interceptor as Challenge TV were bombarded with requests for the show. Now why would any tv company buy the rights to a show which only has 8 episodes? Need I say any more?

I've not seen an episode since it was originally broadcast - and in the twelve years since have not found a game show that can even begin to rival Interceptor for the excitement and tension...

I'll certainly be tuning to Challenge TV at 9am on Saturday!!!

I've seen the trailer, am I right in thinking it's a bit like C4's recent 'action gameshow' XFIRE? 'Cos I liked that, even if they did have to pull half the eps 'cos of Sept 11th ('cos of terrorist-themed missions or something?)
