Is the only qualification for this regional programme presenter wise to just have a bloody stupid name?
I mean 'Morland Sanders' or 'Neeeeena Nerkar'.
How about non Midlands/Yorks&Lincs Inside Outs, do they have silly named presenters too?

- WANTED, presenter on regional BBC television, must have silly name to have any chance of getting job.

BBC South have Chris Packham (Of Really Wild Show fame)

BBC East have "Big George" (The same bloke who wrote the theme music for HIGNFY)

BBC South East have Paul Ross (Producer and presenter and brother of Jonathan)

BBC London have Sumit Bose (Ex-60 Seconds presenter and BBC Science News reporter)

BBC South West have Samantha (Sam) Smith who previously reported (presented?) for Spotlight

They all (with the possible exception of "Big George" - his real name is George Webley I think) have sensible names.

More details are on :BBC Inside Out Home

And don't forget the BBC Midlands presenter - Ben McCarthy - that of national news reporting fame and also recently did a weekend on Weekend24.

Good old Ben - he was on top form today. Rolling his head sympathetically as ever - and I loved that scarf!!!

Tony Morris does the NW Inside Out -- he reports for NWT, and he used to have his own Black comedy show with various stand up comics on BBC TWO a few years back, called Blouse and Skirt.

However, for the second series of Inside Out, BBC Scotland have again not bothered to do something local for the Monday 19:30 slot. Last year, they showed things like Changing Rooms -- and again this Monday it was This Is Your Life, and next week it's Fawlty Towers! Confused Why don't they bother?

BBC Wales showed Remember Wales and BBC NI showed The Right Move .

Nah, the worst reporter name has got to be ITN correspondent Nina Nannar! sounds like a deranged ambulance siren - also sounds like you're trying to hum a news jingle too...

Altogether now

Does anyone know how the stories for Inside Out are selected?

Sarcastic and simplistic answer - because the editor thinks they are stories worth telling that will interest people!

I think that the formula for the show is uniform across the English regions - though I may be wrong.

3 x films linked by the presenter on location (i.e. no studio) Each week one film is also presented by the main presenter? I think often that one of the films is about something hidden or surprising that takes place in the region, one is often a lighter story, and one is often quite hard hitting.

I think the aim is to be less newsy and more current affairs/documentary-like.

(The reason that the BBC Nations fill in with network repeats is that there is no network programme to fill this slot and, like the old BBC Two Sunday parly slot, it is an English regions only strand)

It's just I'm thinking about perhaps approaching Yorks/Lincs Inside Out to see if they'd be interested in doing an article about the problems encountered by adults with Asperger's Syndrome when trying to find work. I'd like to raise awaremess of this disorder and believe Inside Out might be the best place to do so.
