* Review their time schedule. More movies, less Heartbeat and Midsummer Murders,

Well they do get consistently good viewing figures still, so they will be around for a little while yet.

What would they replace Heartbeat with though? I think the relatively news Wild at Heart is a poor replacement for Where the Heart Is -- not sure how those two compared in terms of ratings.

Personally I never watch the Sunday night 8pm dramas on ITV1 - they just dont appeal to me. I understand they are very popular in the ratings though, especially Heartbeat which I think is one of the longest drama series on ITV.

Heartbeat - The 1970s ?

How long did the 60s go on for anyway?

I heard that they cant let the existing series of Heartbeat go into the 70s as its officially a 60s drama - so they have to stay in 1969 forever Smile

Where The Heart Is is the only one of ITV's Sunday dramas I've ever really followed - but still too gentle for my liking.

The slot should remain for family drama - but it's time to let Heartbeat go.

It's probably one of the least risky slots to launch a new series in anyway for ITV - The Royal, Wild at Heart and a few years earlier Where The Heart Is all quickly picked up a large, loyal following - and the BBC haven't been able to compete in that slot really since the days of Ballykissangel.

I did watch Where the Heart is when it first started but then I got bored of it.

Cant see them let Heartbeat go when its one of ITV's most popular shows.

I think more or less anything will work in the 8pm Sunday slot.

'Heart' in the title is compulsory though (Wild at HEART, HEARTbeat, Where The HEART is, etc).

Called a joke.

Three words: devoid, of and humour.

As little as I like Heartbeat (and its off-springs) it's only as bad as BBC producing:
Arrow Casualty
Arrow Holby City
Arrow Holby Blue

I'm glad I don't live in that part of Bristol, the death rate must be 90% higher than anywhere else in the country!

Agreed. And its also a bit stupid that Holby City and Casualty are filmed in 2 different cities. Its like watching 2 different programmes when they are meant to be the same hospital.

They're also laughably bad when compared to the hospital dramas in America.
