Because it won't exist to show - right now, they basically run a Ceefax decoder straight into the transmission chain AIUI. When there's no Ceefax to decode, that route fails.

It won't be produced any more, there's no point having system to produce teletext pages just for in-vision use, there's many other much better ways of displaying text on TV if they want to do it.

Personally if someone on Youtube says he heard this from Eugene from Big Brother... I'd take that with a pinch of salt! Does Eugene even still work for the BBC?

I wouldn't have though they'd bother producing something special just for a few hours when no-one's watching. It's far more likely that they'll fill the time with a BBC3/4 style holding slide

I agree Inspector. The BBC don't know what presentation they will be showing in six months time yet alone in 4 years time. So I wouldn't put to much faith in this at the moment.

Would still be nice to get TCW overnight to allow us to set up our receivers, as so many TFT tellies seem to come with a really crappy set of default factory settings.

How ridiculous - how about showing programmes instead.

They may as well show the testcard on BBC One and Two from about 3am anyway. The BBC doesn't operate any truly 24-hour channels and won't have any reason to simulcast so much after DSO.

BBC NC only operates 0830-0100. Apart from Breakfast the rest is filled by BBC WN which is also used to pad out BBC One/Two at night.

It's the news channel team running World at that point though.
