I agree with you totally. Scotland is a VERY creative, dynamic and entrepreneurial country. I don't know what this proposed service would be like, but anything with less emphasis on England and Wales would suit me.

Scotland, along with the North East of England has the lowest amount of business start-ups in the UK.

Scotland's economy would sink without the Barnett formula.

I love Scotland and the Scottish - but just like with the North East where I live, we'd all be in poorhouses if it wasn't for the rest of England.

Scotland and Denmark are very different countries. If there really was a demand for this service and it was sustainable, it would have happened. Like I say, two words - Sky Scottish.

I think your comments - though I don't doubt they are factually correct - are more likely to anger our Welsh forumers!

No sane Welshman lumps themselves in with England - and surely we can't have a "National" Assembley if we're not actually a nation!

I did, in fact, say that it would be the Welsh who would dislike the facts that I stated. I also explained that the term "National Assembly" is incorrect since Wales is not a nation. The term "Regional Assembly" would be more accurate, but less attractive to the Welsh population, who were never overwhelmingly in favour of devolution the first time it was proposed in 1978.
