A remote castle on one of our islands would be a nice move. And with proper modern lighting and those outdoor heaters, I’m sure the production team will come up with an environment that is very much workable.

In many respects, even a slightly damp British castle would be more appealing than a hot and humid Australian camp.

As for the Bushtucker Trials, they’ll probably just offer stale leftovers from Asda* instead of kangaroo parts.

* said in jest. Other stale leftovers are available.

I would imagine the location will have to be really remote and difficult to access or they run the risk of invasions from all manner of campaigning groups and fanatics seeking publicity.

I imagine a ruined castle in the Scottish highlands or one of the islands would be preferable for keeping members of the public away, as well as often having some nice scenery. There's quite a few ruins relatively close to the Torridon Hotel (recently featured on BBC Two's Amazing Hotels) which might appeal to the celebrities. On the downside I imagine the weather will be a lot colder in the highlands compared to down south.

I don't want to cast any aspersions here but with the result of the inquest into Caroline Flack's suicide all over the headlines I think its a bit irresponsible of ITV to push I'm A Celebrity...I know its a different show but it just feels wrong to me.

With the greatest of respect, Neil, and I say this from a position of politeness, curiosity and genuineness, but I’m not sure what you mean? And how the two subjects are related?

Are you referring to the general linkage of both programmes (this and LI) being reality shows?

Sorry if I’m missing something.

It's not wrong or relevant at all.

I was referring to them being reality shows. From my admittedly highly subjective viewpoint it seems that with the inquest in Caroline's death being in the news today I would have thought maybe ITV would have waited a few days before making the announcement IAC...

Or am I seeing things that just aren't there.

The eating trials can be adapted, there’s just as many disgusting food here as there is in Australia.

Yeah, I can see them going with some sort of medieval cuisine. There's stuff they ate then that we don't usually eat nowadays.

Ah, ok. Still not sure why Caroline’s inquest should affect the production decisions of I’m A Celebrity though.

I guess in the event the inquest advises on the need for better duty of care guidelines, ITV will undoubtedly take those on board.

But I’m not sure that an ongoing inquest should prevent the channel from announcing a revision to their I’m A Celebrity format.

Caroline’s death wasn’t really due to her connection with a reality show. Generally to do with her level of fame but Love Island isn’t directly relevant.

If it was an announcement about a future series of Love Island I could understand it being a bit disrespectful on the day after the inquest. But I’m A Celebrity isn’t really relevant to the case, so unless you want ITV to go into a period of mourning there is no reason not to release this news.

Many thanks for the replies. Probably my aspie brain up to its old tricks.
