How do we think I'm a Celeb 2008 will work with News at Ten? Obviously the whole '90 minute' thing will have to go, but it's 10.30pm too late for things to continue, like evictions and the like?

I would say it would have to go 8.30pm till 10pm on nights where it's needed but even then this would disrupt Monday's Corrie, The Bill on Weds/Thurs. It's an interesting one.

I wouldn't say 10.30 was too late - people will probably stay up to watch it. Remember it's only something like half seven in Aussie.

Do we think News at Ten will still be around by November then?

It's only the second week which is 90 minutes long really - and in earlier series when the last version of News at Ten was still around the eviction episodes were an hour long anyway - and I'd imagine that would be preferred to showing an extra edition at 10.30pm.

Moving to 8.30pm though could work without much hassle - The Bill is always sacrificed - and you mentioned Corrie there so moving it from 8.30pm on Monday would mean it could air at 8pm another day (probably on the Wed as a double bill), leading into I'm a Celeb at 8.30pm.

So an 8.30pm start on Mon, Wed and Fri wouldn't be too much of an issue - while on Tue and Thu ITV1 can just show hour-long programmes at 7.30pm instead (or extra Emmerdale at 8pm) to link to 8.30pm.

The main problem would be when there is football in the week (and next year they'll probably have England games in non-Champions League weeks too), followed by News at Ten - meaning it can't air at all till 10.30pm.

Or just cut it back down to 60 minutes? Simple Rolling Eyes Has it ever really warranted being 90 minutes long - the length of a movie? It usually tends to drag in the last half hour.

Why is this? Don't games end at 9.45pm?

EDIT: I understand.

The show would have to take a day's break on those Tuesdays. I think an established 8.30pm or 9pm timeslot is best. 10.30pm wouldn't perform well.

With no football, it would go like this:

Best all round, with no soap cuts which is ideally what ITV would want.

They can go to 10.30 while I'm a Celebrity is on.

I think they would run the Eviction half hour at 10.30pm. It would be a good way to carry the audience across News at Ten and therefore increase the audience for the bulletin during that week

Also notice that like in previous years I'm a Celebrity is on at 8pm on a Thursday, as ITV like to maintain at least one night of the normal 9pm dramas during this period

The Sun are reporting the line-up will include the Fairbrass brothers from Right Said Fred, Janice Dickinson, Koo Stark, Katie Hopkins, Gemma Atkinson, Christopher Biggins, Mark Bannerman, Anna Ryder Richardson, Jason 'J' Brown, Malcolm McLaren, Rodney Marsh, Cerys Matthews, John Burton Race, Lynne Franks and Gerry McCann (only joking about that last one).

A lot of familiar faces there who I'm sure we can't wait to see (!)

You know they've run out of "zelebs" when they use ex-reality TV show contestants (i.e Katie Hopkins). As has been the case for a while now.

And just think they haven't had to fight Celebrity Big Brother this year either!

I think for most zelebs the preference now is to do either Strictly or Dancing on Ice where they can pocket a pay check without having to give up their lives for three weeks - even if it is hard work!
