Intresting this ,
I have made some mocks for a new television channel called TNI name by Inter-national Telivision swap that round and shorten a bit ... TNI.
It would specialise in a range of things to compete with Sky ,It would have channel such as tni 1,2,3,4,wizz,news first, world, box office, and sound and sports and would show documentarys, news, dramas, sitcoms and such alike.
It would be a contender to sky with interactivity, news bulletins and would have a top of the range news studio like MSNBC'S but a bit nicer.

Back to my odd idea...
I'd call it 'eltv'. (el=entertainment and life)
WEEKDAYS
5-6am: eltv Music Videos
6-9am: eltv kids block
9-12pm: Soap opera reruns
12-2pm: eltv Daytime Movie
2-4pm: eltv Music Video block
4-4:30pm: Seinfeld
4:30-5pm: That 70's Show
5-6pm: The Simpsons
6-6:30pm: Will & Grace
6:30-7pm: Seinfeld
7-8pm: eltv NEWS(a satirical look at the day's top stories)
8-12am: Primetime programming(movies, sitcoms, original programming...)
12-1am: Infomercials
1-4:30am: eltv After Dark
4:30-5am: Off-the-air(test cards)
SATURDAYS
5-12pm: eltv Kids
12-2pm: eltv Movie 1
2-4pm: eltv Movie 2
4-6pm: eltv Movie 3
6-8pm: eltv Movie 4
8-9pm: Seinfeld
9-10pm: The Simpsons
10-11pm: That 70's Show
11-12am: Will & Grace
12-1am: Infomercials
1-4:30am: eltv After Dark
4:30-5am: Off-the-air(test cards)
SUNDAYS
5-4pm: eltv Music Videos
4-6pm: eltv Movie or Music Videos
6-8pm: Best of eltv NEWS
8-10pm: eltv Movie or reruns of orginal programming
10-1am: eltv Music Videos
1-2am: Infomercials
2-4:30am: eltv After Dark
4:30-5am: Off-the-air(test cards)
Original programming would consist of comedies, documentaries, dramas or reruns of HBO programming like The Sopranos(edited of course).
Perhaps if it becomes sucessful, eltv 2 would launch which would air commercial free(subscription required) and air movies, music videos and more sitcoms but only for a few hours-from 7pm to 2am. If the music video blocks were profitable, another channel would launch that would air only music videos(no VJ's and limited commercials). Hypothetically, this channel would air in Canada/USA.
Would it work in the UK?

Saturdays on UKTN1 would have the same news programmes from 05.00-09.00 then cookery before an afternoon of live field hockey. If there is a Speedway Grand Prix that would be shown here in the evening. On UKTN2 meanwhile there would be the same format of children's programmes in the morning then highlights of last week's sport before the news and then sport for the afternoon. At 17.00 there would be two hours of Talking Football unless there was a SGP on UKTN1 as the news would be on at 18.00.
Sundays on UKTN1 would be devoted to current affairs and repeats in the afternoon. UKTN 2 would have children's programmes in the morning and then Sunday Sport in the afternoon.
The logo for UKTN is the Union Jack with UKTN on the top in white with the equivalent channel number after it or if a name then underneath.
The idents for both channels would be the UKTN flag in different locations. There would be ten idents in total for each channel which would be parts (extended to 30 seconds) of the same piece of music which, at closedown, are put together to form the full piece of music.
Each night on UKTN2 would have a different genre of film:
Monday - Action
Tuesday - Sci Fi/Fantasy
Wednesday - Adventure/Fantasy
Thursday - Comedy
Friday - Horror
Saturday - New Release/UKTN Choice
Sunday - Classic/Historic

If you go www.apfs-tv.com you can set up your own local TV channel if you win a 6Net franchise.
SBC is a local television company in Northern Ireland. There are graphics but no listings yet but they will be coming soon. The channel would be a mix of National and Local Entertainment, News and Current Affairs.

BELOW IMAGES I CAN'T HELP BUT USE POWERPOINT
I'd create a new cable network called EBN (Entertainment Broadcasting Network)
http://www.rp-networkservices.com/tvforum/uploads/ebnlogo.jpg
and has the following channels:
EBN 1 (Simple Entertainment Channel)
Could be called a mix of UKTV Gold, BBC Three and UKTV Drama. It would show old and new comedies, soaps, dramas, and hourly news updates.
http://www.rp-networkservices.com/tvforum/uploads/ebn1logo.jpg
Silverscreen TV (Movie channel)
Would show 24-7 movies, any genre, and would alter depending on the time of day. The alterations would change everyday (i.e. Mon: 8:00-12:00 Childrens... Tue: 8:00-12:00 Drama)
http://www.rp-networkservices.com/tvforum/uploads/silverscreenlogo.jpg
GamePlay TV
Could be called a channel version of the Sky One hit, "Gamezville"
http://www.rp-networkservices.com/tvforum/uploads/gameplaylogo.jpg
Comedy Club
Specialises in American comedy sitcoms like Frasier and Everybody Loves Raymond, British comedy sitcoms like Bottom and My Family, public comedy shows like Beadle's About and Punk'd, standup from America, and standup from Britain like Peter Kay "at the Bolton Albert Halls"
http://www.rp-networkservices.com/tvforum/uploads/comedyclublogo.jpg
EBN News
Self-explanitory. Brings viewers the less serious side of the news, and makes you feel more comfortable sitting back and watching the channel. Would also show news programmes similar to Sir Robin day.
http://www.rp-networkservices.com/tvforum/uploads/ebnnewslogo.jpg
Kidszone
Children's channel that would show pre-school programmes 9am-1pm and the rest of the day would show programmes for older children like Get Your Own Back. Kidszone also has it's own slot for teen programmes like The Fresh Prince and Dance 360 on weekends from 12pm to 5pm. Kidszone would closedown at least once a week for tests, as all other channels are 24hr

Personally I would come up with anything better than ITV
Not sure exactly what the schedule would be but a mix of news, sport (not highlights), movies (uninterupted by ads), kids programmes, home grown comedy & drama programmes (both new & old) & only quality imports.
So Thames TV it is then

My network would be called DJGMtv . . . and would feature channels dedicated to some of my favourite TV programs and stuff.
DJGMtv (1) - The Knight Foundation:
The name of this channel refers to the fictional corporation, that was also known as the Foundation for Law And Governement
featured in Knight Rider. As you'd expect, episode re-runs of KR would feature prominently in the schedule. There would also
be interviews with former members of the cast of Knight Rider, especially "The Hoff", and William Daniels, the actor that
provided the voice KITT and even some of the people who've converted real Trans Ams into replicas of KITT or KARR.
DJGMtv (2) - Castle Knightmare:
Re-runs of every episode of Knightmare, plus interviews with the actors who played key characters, especially Treguard
and Lord Fear. There would also be exclusive interviews with former dungeoneer and their "advisers" There would also
be interviews with the few teams that actually succeeded in beating the dungeon, and defeating Lord Fear.
DJGMtv (3) - The Bat and Mouse Channel:
Re-runs of episodes of Batfink and Danger Mouse. Relevant features and interviews also included. And as it's in some way
associated with both of these classic cartoon series, re-run episodes of Count Duckula would also be on the schedules.
DJGMtv (4) - [.tv] the technology channel:
The long awaited return of a much missed channel ruthlessly culled by Sky a few years ago. A welcome return for shows
like Chips With Everything, Masterclass, and Buyers Guide, all of which would have their formats updated as necessary,
but the basic underlying formats not be tampered with. And any channel with Kate Russell on, gets my seal of approval!
DJGMtv (5) - News and Facts:
News bulletins on the hour, provided by Sky or some other big news gathering organisation, and documentaries covering
many topics, some would be specially commissioned, most others would be "rights acquired" from Discovery Networks.
