Well. I think Identz is great. Although it seems a day never passes without design changes it's very good.

Instead of criticising about it maybe we should all learn from it, Jamez too.

I was going to wait until I had a lot of content to put on my tv site but I'm going to take a different approach. I'm just going to upload what I have and work from there.

I have been visiting TV Home for a while and it does take time to build up a site with masses of content. Good Luck Jamez, your doing fine.

Ignore the Idiots who seem only to be here for the criticsm.

I don't know about other people but I like to see lots of TV Websites about, u are bound to get sites with similar content but who cares unless it is a direct copy of another site. Identz is great and adds to the other vast majority of TV Websites that seem to be proving more popular than ever. Keep Identz going Jamez, it's ur site, don't waste ur work already put into the site because other people are critcising u!

Particularly amusing was your remark about the oddball obsessives on MHP.  You do actually share their interest (in case you hadn't noticed)...so much so that you've even gone so far as to create a website.  Or are you a more 'trendy' variety of anorak or something?!?  However, I'm not in the least offended by any of your remarks.

By all means continue with Identz.  No-one is asking you to call a halt to the thing.  You have been offered independent opinions on the content.  If you cannot handle criticism...well, that's your problem.

'Oddball obsessives' now where I did I write that? I think your're putting words into my mouth, that aren't true - you're obviously a journalist!

I can handle critisism - but not when it is put across so brashly and rude like you have done.

Identz has only been online for just under 2 months, and at present it is only a fraction of the size it could be, given time. I'm sure TV Room started off small and grew to what it is today.

I get the impression that just because I put videos of tv idents, that I'm crossing over into TV Home terretory which only TV Home has the rights to have online.

In September 2000 when I came up with the idea of starting a telvision site (after being inspired by MHP - not TV Home (as I didn't know it existed then)) my policy was to create a site as if it was the only one of its kind, regardless of what other sites there may be with similar or same content.

TV Home & TV Room don't have exclusive rights to have videos/images etc, so I think your rather childish and overhwhelming attitude to such absolute trivial matters is offensive and makes you look like complete arse!

Oh, and one other thing, you mention me being controvertial - so what? its good to be controvertial and express opinions. Most of you lot (especially in the media - and this applies to many of the media workers who visit this forum and MHP) are so politically correct and are so up your own arses its almost laughable.

Not at all. There was plenty of ident sites when I launched my site and the only difference for me was that I wanted to create high-quality collections of idents with a nice looking web design. By all means continue with updating it with as much/as little as you wish, but for someone with not much time to update the site, I thought you might like to be pointed in the direction of which bits of the site are the most successful?

Feel free to ignore it with a smile Smile

I agree that some bits of Identz (i.e the menu bar) do look spoolily familiar, and its completly subconscious! Its only when people point it out to me saying 'ooh, that looks like TV Home' or 'Did you get that idea from BBC Online?' I'll be removing the blue colouring from the site, in favour of black, which is far more neutral, and give me better flexibility for the themed pages such as BBC World and ITV Smile

Well. In true style I'm going to complain that your copying my black now. LOL. Only joking.

WHO GIVES A DAMN ABOUT WHAT COLOUR IT IS! If it works with the design then fine. I don't care. Only I think the blue is very noticeable a lot of the time. But not that I care.

Good! Just for the record, I don't care the blue is similar either. As someone rightly pointed out in the old thread, this blue is quite popular! Smile

How come every thread about Identz causes controvorsy (speliing prob wrong but i don't care).

I think Identz and TV Home are similar yet different in many ways.

They may be the same colour of blue (very nice blue) and may both have BBC News styled themes on pages about BBC News.

However Identz (and Isonstine:TV) is more of a Clean Feed MP3 site for theme tunes, plus the very nice Your Designs section which often suprises me.

Honestly stop whinging about the site, maybe I should e-mail itv.com and accuse them of copying the BBC with a large website focusing on everything to do with the network.

I like Idents and TV Home and am always interested in updates.

Now that's over - I can't see (or hear) the difference between Orbits 7 and Orbits 10, plus one of the others sounds like a pervious one.

Hmm, I seem to recognise the background shading at the top of you pages James (albeit flipped)... Wink

Keep going, competition is good, critisism is good, changes are good, quitting is bad.

Design isn't everything nowadays.  Look at ITV1, the quality of their content has seriously dropped in the past couple of years, and how do they try to fix it.... by tweaking design ideas.  ITV1 are going to have their worst Xmas is a number of years this year, only because their content isn't matching up to their competitors.

Identz has the equivalent content of ITV in the late 90's, new, bold and challenging to competitors.  Don't turn into the ITV of today... which leaves me with one question...

Isn't black TV Room territory?...

LOL! The grey shaded bit at the top of each 'neutral' page such as Links & Your Designs was put there as something to break up each page. Don't worry, it'll be kicked into the virtual internet bin v.soon Wink
