I'll also put up the BBC Breakfast News sounds, and TWT 1995.

Thanks a lot for ALL the stuff. I have no idea how hard it is to keep a site up, but I'd imagine it's not easy!

It is hard, but worth it. One or two people have been getting on my nerves tonight comparing the design and content to TV Home (even the TV Home owner had a dig!Confused )

Asa and others seem completely justified. I'm afraid it does appear to bear a striking resemblance to TVHome. You may have slapped your logo at the top but the rest seems to follow the same style. It would be nice if a completely new design was created. The colour may not be the exact same shade but it is similar. The curves immediately made me think of it.

James, your files are obviously very good, but why spend time on 'redesigning' when all you had to do with the old site is put the whole thing in a fixed width table? That is confusing.

If you don't like it - don't visit! simple.

You seem to be suggesting that I downloaded a page from TV Home, tweeked around with it and then uploaded it onto the Identz host. WRONG!

All the graphics, code etc was done completly by me, and IMO looks much more visually pleasing than TV Home. I hope you will all stop critising the site now, cozif it continues Ison and I are happy to shut up shop!

Yes Jamez, looking (and sounding) good. I tend to agree, it does look a bit like TV Home but don't change it. It's a winning formula. Picasso himself once said all the best ideas are stolen. The logos at the top are terrific.

EDIT: Just realised that that could have been interpreted as a dig. It wasn't intended to be! Smile

Tsk! It takes a lot to annoy me! (so when I do get annoyed the cause of the annoyance should be ashamed)

James, well done, its very nice, the section logos are great, but (come on i'm allowed a but after those compliments), it is quite tv homey, and the black background is very dark, i've not looked at the code, but if you do what I do with MichWeb and have an image, even if it is just one colour, this way the look of the site can be easily modified (examples of how easy this is to do is coming up on the 31st).

Hello all,

I've just joined.  I've just had the chance to read all of the replies in the thread and I'd like to share my opinion (if that's allowed).  It appears to me that the two James' have bitten off more than they can chew with their website 'Identz'.  The fact that this thread has 27 pages (at the moment) is surely indicative of what a farce the launch and subsequent launches of Identz have become. Sad

Yes, they have good content on their website but it's clear that they're very inexperienced in webdesign and maintaining a site.  I think we should be offering them our support rather than slagging them off.  Remember the two James' are very young and probably haven't had to work in a strict professional environment before (except school - which is hardly strict!).  This is probably their pasttime and allowances should be made.  I'm sure in time they will design a site that it unique (as unique as you can be on the net) and Jamez will learn to hold his tongue and act in a professional manner.

I'd like to thank the two James' for bringing us their content and hope they run their site for a long time to come.  Remember Jamez, make no promises! Wink

Ellie

Hello Ellie,

OK, firstly Identz was relaunched after it was suggested to me that the the whole site needed a relaunch and the old white and blue look was rather in-apt. So over the last week I have been fixing all the old broken downloads, and adding new pages with the new black look. After an email conversation with Asa, I have agreed to make some small design changes to Identz sometime towards the new year so that it moves away from the so-called 'TV Homey' look.

As me being 'very young', I'm 18, and in the eyes of the law that makes me legally responsible for myself and more importantly responsible for myself and the words that come out of my mouth and on the internet.

I'm currently working on my own personal site after I closed down my old one back in September 1999. Updates and new features will be added to Identz continuously throughout the year.

Kindest Regards
