The musical arrangement on the Yorkshire local ident version 1 was the part which let them down, very weak sounding compared to the strong sound of the previous spinning chevron.

Yes, it was likely a rushed job and the original intention may have been to have had various different musical themes for the different planned idents. It is also likely that the Yorkshire jingle wouldn't have been used at all, as equivelent idents would've been used on Tyne Tees & Granada also; almost certainly being identical other than the regional logo being swapped in the left-hand pane.

Of course in those days there were lots of internal departments, Granada and Carlton still had corporate sites alongside ITV.co.uk, very difficult to work out what was what.

I think that Granada Kids yellow endcap only appeared on series 1 of MPAA, after that it changed to the GR/N/DA logo one.

So presumably Granada Kids despite being based in Leeds wasn't part of Yorkshire, so didn't get that purple endcap, but part of a centralised Granada corporate division, so got the corporate logo.

I don't believe Scottish did in 1999. There was a millennium ident used for a couple of days but I don't have it unfortunately.

That particular Granada Media logo was - I think - the corporate logo of the short lived Granada Media Plc during the time it and Granada Compass Plc existed during 2001-2.

In 2002, Granada Compass Plc became Compass Plc and Granada Media Plc became Granada Plc, and the GR/N/DA logo was introduced, I think, at that point.

Yes that's the one. There was an ident on Christmas Day 1997.

The channel that would likely to play out idents of Christmas past nowadays would be BBC Two.

UNM regions took the network offering, I believe. As did LTW and Border.
