Ideal World is going widescreen

Ideal World has announced on-air that during this month it will switch to 16:9 broadcasting.

No idea whether there will be new graphics, or if the new cameras will be HD-ready, but what can you expect staying in 4:3 for so long.

The presenter also clearly has his 4:3 content stretched, saying that everyone will look slimmer.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

Why would they announce it on air, never mind the time he's announcing it at!

They may have been saying it throughout the day, and I luckily caught it.

WOW. Peterborough won't know what's hit it.

I find this news amusing, better late than never I suppose.

This is the most exciting piece of presentation news ever - even more exciting than QVC going HD.

Well my Mum watches Create and Craft but Idk if its happened to the other Ideal channels

I hope Asa is planning a new theme for this momentous event.

So Ideal World has gone widescreen today. Graphics are outside the safe area, but noticeably they can now show both the web address and telephone number.
