Here an Idea ITV could of easier done

An hour long show every weekday at 5pm form the Edinburgh festival!

There could of called it ITV1 at the fringe (in Scotland STV at the Fringe Wink )

I would say there could of done this even on the CHEAP! And a lot of people probably would of tune in to see what going on, there something different going on everyday!

There could have reviews,
Interviews
Promote show that aren’t selling that well
Speak to the public / tourist
Have an out door set I the grass market/ high street/ the mound!

So what do you think?

STV used to do "Festival Live", which was quite entertaining, and is more or less what you are suggesting.

Can't see it being pushed to the network, as despite the massive audiences and crowds it pulls in the city, it is still and Arts Festival - arts not being a huge television audience puller.

STV probably don't have the money to do a 3-week outside broadcast on their own.

So in essence, I doubt you will see it on your screen anytime soon.

E4 are doing the "Udderbelly" live from Teviot Row in Edinburgh. It is home to many high profile comedians.

Even if this was a good, new idea, isn't it a bit silly to be posting it on a public forum? Anyone could steal it and be on the phone selling it.

Hardly.

TV producers only steal an idea when it's actually made it to air!

Like Gavin said STV has done this before (Further to that old lunchtime Scotland today used to do a 15mins segment in there 30mins show, doing what I have suggested above)

So it NOT a new format, by any means, It not like that idea is so hard to come up with (anyone here could come up with IT)

If ITV got of there back side and used there brains there might come up with GOOD SHOWS, more often.

5pm isn't the right slot though - 11pm would be better.

Don't the BBC usually do something after Newsnight?
