Why would there need to be a source, its an opinion not a fact

I'd like to know what he's basing his opinion on. I can't see any signs of people unable to get on with their lives because The Big Breakfast isn't on TV anymore. Where's this demand for it's return? I'm guessing it's a few people on a forum.

But probably more than wan't an extra news service at breakfast time.

And he never said anything about people not getting on with their lives, just said a lot of people won't be happy with c4's breakfast offerings unless it was the Big Breakfast.

I'm not sure if it's still the case but wern't the lock keepers cottages in the middle of the proposed olympic village? if so then that would have been gold to channel 4 to have still been broadcasting it's breakfast show from there! all in the past now though!

The Big Breakfast won't return, it's the last of that traditional magazine format sadly which is all but disappearing on mainstream television imo - certainly for kids anyway (although, in fairness, it was aimed at most ages)....just look how Blue Peter is struggling.

What about The One Show? You can't say "traditional magazine formats" are struggling. In the end there's good TV and bad TV...and by the end The Big Breakfast just wasn't very good.

C4 is massively short of cash so there's no way they'd even be considering doing anything different at breakfast to what they do now.

I was quite content to let The Big Breakfast rest in peace until I discovered other shows were now using the house for filming, notably Singing with the Enemy on BBC3.

It's also virtually next door to the Olympic Stadium, so it would seem a missed opportunity not to use it for something in 2012.

oh i thought it had been convereted from studio back into a normal house.

Would be amazing for the BBC to use as their Olympics hub Smile

It has, but it still provides a good space for TV programmes and a nice source of income for the owners.

Err - 2 Lock Keepers cottages is in the Olympic developement regeneration area.
I've read (and seen the plans by the LOGOC) and Old Ford Lock was in the bulldozer zone. That was a couple of years ago - they may have pulled the red zone in a bit since then, due to the cost cutting going on.

It's right on the edge and from what I've read it's now safe - though I think the old Planet 24 building which was adjacent to the house wasn't so lucky.

Talking of which, are Planet 24 still going - and have they produced anything lately?

Am I going mad but didn't Carlton own Planet 24? I think P24 made the ITV version of Survivor, I've not seen them on screen since the BB, so I doubt they still exist.
