Not sure if anyone could help but I was wondering if anyone has any pics of the IBA slides used by Thames, LWT, Granada, Central, etc.

I know alot of them used to be online but alot of these sites seem to have either closed down or are currently under re-construction.

Also did any of the regions not use them at all?

EDIT: Just found this one online was this the only non ITV channel to get an IBA slide of sorts

I think I am right in saying that Central didn't have an IBA slide, I think most of the others did though. TVS had a hybrid slide, with their logo at the top and rundown of their programmes underneath.

Remember seeing the IBA slide in Scotland before morning programmes started, but don't recall seeing the STV logo on it.

LWT's are here.

BTW IMHO LWT had the least 'stuffy' of IBA start up sequences, using jazz track, ' A Well Swung Fanfare' . I can only assume because they were only aired at the weekend, the IBA never actually got to see them Smile

I remember everyone thought that was a fake when it was posted on PP. Certainly I did until I found that clip.

My old crossover television site use to have a IBA slides page although most of them were lovingly recreated for the site. I can't be ar$ed to set up a webpage with them back on or locate the images and post them individually on here so instead, I've made it easy for myself and just done a screen dump of the page as per the 2001 era.

Another TV-am slide, I think this was probably the shortest lived due to the fact Daybreak was axed not too long afterwards and then Good Morning Britain came to air at 6.25am which lasted for a couple of years AIUI.

UTV had a "transmitters in service" caption and also the one at the page below.

I thought they just cut to the GOOD MORNING Slide?

As for STV, they did have a IBA Slide at one stage. The 70's STV logo would rotate around. Probably the most animated of all the IBA starts up.

I know here in the West it was we had a large white HTV ariel on an electric blue background and the announcer would say; This is Harlech. Which confused the hell out of me for years! They replaced the Men of Harlech March in the early 1980's for a much more funky tune and within months they began to show a film instead of the slide. There were three different films, a West Country one, a Welsh one and a hybrid one, mainly shown on a Saturday morning. We used to get the Welsh every now and again. Loads of sheep and rugby players!

I remember the film well, I used to watch it every morning in the holidays, after Wacaday I seem to remember. 70s HTV Transmitters In Service slides were multiple, that is there were a number of slides shown one after the other because there were so many transmitters they couldn't list them all on one slide!
