It's going to be awkward when he goes back into that Gadget Show office.

Rick Edwards might be able to string a coherent sentence together but he's still spectacularly bland. Ortis's brilliant gaffes were really the only highlight of this otherwise dull coverage of a dull event.

That's pretty negative. I'm pretty sure they'll have a 'Sorry it didn't work out' party or joke cake.

He hasn't posted on Twitter since the 29th. It's starting to become anxious to what his next tweet will be. Worst case scenario is he quits everything and becomes a recluse.

Tell me if im exaggerating but this was a make or break opportunity for Otis. Many people never heard of him before this job and now he's become a major flop. Like Konnie Huq on Xtra Factor this was his moment on the big stage and he failed miserably. On the flip side one mans loss is another mans gain and I believe Rick Edwards has been really competent and has a big future in sports presenting I believe.

I think he's very slick.

He did a radio show on Choice FM in London and co-hosted The Gadget Show and I imagine he'll continue to do those.

It might have damaged his reputation when it comes to getting future work though.

Poor Ortis! He's usually very good and has live TV experience. But that really was a horror show. He should have been more prepared. Jake Humphrey showed that kids presenters could cross over.

What's more Jake is the anchor of a sport he doesn't know that much about and gets away with it.

I think that's unfair on JH, He does know the sport, however he plays the host role as an investigator requesting input from others on the team, as any good presenter assisted by ex-pros should.

It's quite lazy not to use his full name. But yes I think John Humphrys has brought great knowledge to the BBC F1 team.
