Out of these two, I prefer the second one. In the first one, two separate names that are both a string of letters (as opposed to actual words) follow each other immediately. If the announcer were to make a bad job of the pause between, it might sound like 'HTVITV1', rather than 'HTV........ITV1'.
In the second one, the words '...this is...' keep the ITV1 and HTV nice and separate.

ROFL - hmmm by the sounds of things its the freelance announcer that goes between HTV wales, west and even westcountry when the 'normal' 2 announcers are off on the sick or leave.
i think hes called Phillip Banks and should be made up to one of the permanent announcers as hes very witty and level headed!

I think they should bring back the old name for HTV, before they dropped the Cymru/Wales tag. You do sometimes hear it but not very often since they've started the ITV1 overload. They should also include it in their logo.
'You're watching HTV Wales' sounds much better than the increasingly annoying ITV/HTV thing!
