Why I like HTV Wales....

First of all, almost every continuity announcement contains the HTV name.

Some examples:

Serving Wales, this is HTV.
This is HTV, good morning Wales.
This is HTV, ITV1 in Wales.
Your Welsh ITV1, this is HTV.
You're watching HTV. Good evening Wales (usually before ITV News)

And I could go on.

Secondly, their presentation is great, because they use Carlton's idents WITHOUT the dreaded Carlton name. I also liked it when EVERY NPU had an HTV logo put over the ITV logo!

And as for Lucy Cohen, wow!

I agree that HTV Wales is good (or it used to be until Autumn 1999 and the dreaded intro of those F***ing ITV hearts!)

Before then, HTV used to have unique idents, and its presentation was rather good (ITV still hasn't bettered itself since the infamous 1989 look).

I also like Lucy I've only met her once - she's quite short in real life (or am I just a lanky tw*t?)

I look foward to the new look ITV1 in early 2002!

Can I start a thread entitled 'Why I hate HTV West'?

Oh, just heard a new announcement before the ITV National News:

Keeping Wales up-to-date with the rest of the world - this is HTV.

There's a new announcer on HTV, and I think I've heard him before on westcountry. He is quite funny, and at the end of My Uncle Silas, he put on a strong Westcountry accent.

At the end of YBF, he said 'and YBF will be back next week, if we can fit Lisa Reily in!'

So whats up with HTV West then.. apart from the dire news?

ROFL - hmmm by the sounds of things its the freelance announcer that goes between HTV wales, west and even westcountry when the 'normal' 2 announcers are off on the sick or leave.

i think hes called Phillip Banks and should be made up to one of the permanent announcers as hes very witty and level headed!
