Watching the repeats tonight.

Is there something 'funny' with the picture, or is it my telly?

Looks 'slightly' filmised, is the best way to describe it !

I haven't watched them, but i know what you mean. UKTV G2 have this problem with some of their programmes. The studio parts of Top Gear look slightly filmised as you put it. Mainly just random jumps in the footage.

Never had this problem with analogue Sky! Boohoo, moan etc!

Is it something to do with zooming the picture from 16:9 to 14:9 so it can be shown on UKTV?

It seems to be the case on many shows in 14:9 on UKTV. They might be using a dodgy ARC, though I think the low bitrates the channels are broadcast in doesn't help either.

Is it just my telebox or is the sound completely screwed on shows like Top Gear on UKTV too? I've just got a normal Stereo TV and when i watch Top Gear on BBC2 the sound is absolutely fine, but when i watch it on UKTV G2 the sound is all over the place. Dialogue being drowned out by music completely. And i'm not just talking about the bits which are replaced with cheap library music, but the non-replaced parts too.

That's what happened to a Two onnies episde on Christmas Day BBC1 a few years back. There was a fault with the ARC which meant that it dropped every other frame. Made it look very odd
