I know Mr. Merton likes to trip Boris up, but I switched off after 10 minutes because I thought he was taking it far too far.

It would have been funnier if he'd been allowed to actually get through the script a bit more and leave the ribbing to the answer-guessing bits.

A few of the other guest presenters were just as green in the field of TV presenting, but Paul Merton gave them space. But if he chooses not to, whoever is in the chair hasn't got a hope... and it's not ALWAYS funny.

But's that's just my opinion...

He couldn't be the permanent host, but once a series he is brilliant. He knows he is going to have the mick taken out of him when he agrees to go on, and the way he mumbles to himself and criticises the jokes he reads out is classic! And Rik Wakeman- 'I;m loosing the will to live!'. Priceless.

Merton's p-take of Boris as a Bond villian was priceless!
