Is just me or did any one else think Charlotte Church did really well as host last series? When I heard she was doing it I thought she'd be awful, but she handled it really well.

I too anticipated she would be awful but the show turned out ok. It was a feast of editing though, so perhaps only her best moments were kept in.

Its worth remembering though that virtually *every* witticism and quip the host makes is scripted.

Of course. But still, at 16 (or whatever she is now) and a singer by trade, i.e. not been to Syliva Young. She held her own very well I thought.

This weeks HIGNFY with John Humphrys as the latest guest host was the funniest edition
that I've seen in a long time. Particularly, when John kept being reduced to fits of giggles.

Also, anyone that's had the misfortune to tune to the Fox News Channel for any extended
amount of time, will have identified with the references to this (so-called) "news" channel.

" Alexander Armstrong will become a permanent replacement for Angus Deayton as presenter of Have I Got News For You if he performs well on a guest stint in a fortnight, the Daily Star reports today.

The 33-year-old, one half of comic duo Armstrong and Miller, was said to impress producers when he first guest presented the show earlier this year. He will return again in two weeks' time, after which he is likely to be offered the job.

Other contenders on the shortlist are believed to include Anne Robinson, Liza Tarbuck and Jack Dee. "
